Jerith Construction in Palo Alto, CA | Milpitas Construction

We provide independent Jerith fence, gate, and railing service across Palo Alto, from Midtown ranchers to Greenmeadow Eichlers, and also offer Stanford Jerith service nearby. The one thing that makes our Jerith work different here is that we plan every post and panel line around Palo Alto’s design-review rules, single-story zoning, and the radiant-heat slabs that run under so many older lots. If you need Jerith aluminum or vinyl fencing installed, repaired, or re-aligned, call (877) 752-4194 for a free estimate.

Why Palo Alto Residents Choose Us for Jerith Service

We’ve set and re-set hundreds of Jerith ornamental aluminum fence and railing runs across the South Bay and Peninsula, so we know how these panels, posts, and racking geometry behave on the small, tight, custom-lot parcels that dominate Palo Alto. We are an independent Jerith installer and are not authorized, sponsored, or endorsed by Jerith. That independence matters: we spec parts by name, not by habit, and we’ll tell you plainly when a genuine Jerith post is worth the cost and when a quality aftermarket hinge does the job better.

Ken Stafford, our owner, got his start in construction technology at Evergreen Valley College and has spent more than two decades working Bay Area soil, including the expansive clay pockets in south and west Palo Alto. He’s the one who taught our crews that a fence post in this city isn’t just a hole in the ground, it’s a decision about what’s underneath it. Our Jerith sales & service work follows that same thinking. We also carry the Palo Alto service area knowledge that keeps projects moving through the city’s slower permitting path without stalling at the end.

Common Jerith Construction Problems We Solve in Palo Alto

  • Heaved posts on expansive clay. Post footings poured shallow on the assumption of a no-frost climate fail when the expansive clay in south and west Palo Alto cycles wet-dry through drought years and atmospheric-river winters. Posts rack, gate latches fall out of alignment, and the whole run starts to look tired within a couple of seasons. We re-set posts in deeper, wider footings and re-level the line.
  • Racked panels out of plumb on old property lines. Racked Jerith panels installed to follow an old, un-surveyed property line on a rancher lot end up out of plumb where the true boundary differs, especially on Midtown and Greenmeadow lots re-platted informally over decades. We survey the line before we dig, then set panels so they read straight to the eye and the county record.
  • Powder-coat chalking on west-facing runs. Factory powder-coat on aluminum pickets chalks and pits faster on west-facing runs hammered by summer UV and winter wind-driven rain off the coastal hills. Pre-drilled post bases collect water if not set above grade. We adjust post elevation and touch up affected sections before they become a full replacement job.
  • Gate sag after hardscape work. Gate sag and hinge wear on Jerith walk gates hung between posts that were set to the old fence line rather than re-leveled after slab or hardscape work moved the adjacent grade. A gate that dragged fine last season suddenly binds after a paver patio goes in. We re-hang with upgraded hinges and a self-closing latch where it fits the opening.
  • Radiant-heat slab conflicts. In Eichler tracts like Greenmeadow, radiant heating tubes are embedded directly in the slab, so any post hole near the house edge can sever a heating loop. We pre-scan slab perimeters before cutting or digging near the structure, which most fence crews never think to do.

Jerith Service in Palo Alto: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Greenmeadow and other Eichler tracts in south Palo Alto have radiant-heat tubing cast directly into the slab, and Palo Alto’s design-review-heavy permit process plus single-story zoning scrutiny means a new Jerith fence line or gate post here has to be laid out around radiant loops, daylight-plane setbacks, and neighbor-notice requirements before a single hole is dug. That’s not true in Los Altos Hills, Saratoga, or areas served by our Emerald Lake Hills Jerith service, where lot sizes and review rules run differently. On a Greenmeadow Eichler, we pre-scanned the slab edge before any excavation near the radiant loop, re-set the Jerith post in a deeper, wider concrete footing, and re-hung the gate with upgraded hinges and a self-closing latch so it cleared the city’s setback line. The run is plumb again and opening cleanly through the wet season. If you own a Jerith fence in Greenmeadow or a nearby Eichler pocket, the slab under your feet is part of your fence plan whether you see it or not.

Jerith Models & Products We Service in Palo Alto

We work on the full Jerith lineup homeowners actually have in Palo Alto: Barricade-style pressed-point aluminum picket fence, Majestic rackable ornamental aluminum fence, industrial and commercial-grade aluminum railing and fence systems, and Jerith vinyl and aluminum decorative gate and railing assemblies. For runs that must match an existing line or manufacturer profile, we use genuine Jerith posts, panels, pickets, and hardware. Where a stock hinge, latch, or post base underperforms, we use quality aftermarket parts that hold up better. But we won’t patch a rusted-out or impact-cracked Jerith section when replacement of that run costs little more than the labor to re-align it. That’s the honest math.
