Tremron Construction in Wrightwood, CA | Milpitas Construction
We install and repair Tremron pavers, retaining walls, and hardscape systems throughout Wrightwood, CA. What makes our Tremron work different here is simple: we spec every base, joint, and edge restraint for a 6,000-foot snow-and-salt environment, not a flat suburban driveway. Call (877) 752-4194 to talk through your project and get a free, line-item estimate.
Milpitas Construction is an independent Tremron service provider. We buy Tremron products directly from the manufacturer’s distribution network and install them to spec. We are not manufacturer-affiliated and we don’t claim authorized status. What we do claim is that we’ve built enough hardscapes in the San Gabriel Mountains to know exactly where Tremron products fail here and how to prevent it.
Why Wrightwood Residents Choose Us for Tremron Service
Most contractors in Wrightwood treat pavers and retaining walls as generic hardscape work. We don’t. We know the difference between a Tremron Old Towne Cobble paver and a cheaper lookalike, and we know what each one does when snowmelt hits it, when a plow blade scrapes it, when road salt wicks into it for five straight winters. That matters at this elevation.
Ken Stafford, our owner, built his first mountain hardscape job on a sloped cabin lot years ago and learned fast that Wrightwood doesn’t forgive shortcuts. He’s the guy who will walk your driveway, look at the frost line, look at the drainage, and tell you honestly whether a repair will hold or whether you’re throwing money at a base that’s already failed. We’d rather you know that before we dig.

Common Tremron Construction Problems We Solve in Wrightwood
Here’s what we see most often on Tremron installations in Wrightwood. These are not theoretical failures. They’re what we find when we walk a driveway or a backyard after the snow clears.
- Efflorescence and salt bloom after winter de-icer exposure. Wrightwood’s road crews salt Highway 2 and the village streets heavily. That salt gets tracked onto pavers, wicks up through the joints, and leaves white mineral deposits on the surface. It’s ugly, but it’s also a sign your pavers are wicking moisture through the base. We clean it properly, then address the drainage issue that’s feeding it.
- Paver edge restraint failure from snowplow scraping and spring melt runoff. On sloped driveways, the outside edges take a beating. A plow blade clips the edge, the restraint pops, sand washes out, and within a season the whole border starts spreading. We re-set edges with proper plastic or aluminum restraint and re-compact.
- Freeze-thaw heave cracking bases and shifting pavers. Wrightwood’s frost depth is deeper than anything down in the Antelope Valley or the Inland Empire. If the base was ever set at four inches, it’s wrong for this mountain. We see pavers lifted two inches in the spring, with poly sand cracked out of every joint.
- Retaining wall face spalling and cap displacement from snowmelt seepage. Tremron Kingston and Stonegate walls fail fast when hillside water builds up behind them. Caps shift, faces bulge, and eventually the wall leans. The wall isn’t the problem. The drainage behind it is the problem.
- Joint sand washout on steep sections after spring melt. The steeper your driveway, the faster water moves. Poly sand works, but only if it’s activated properly over a deep, compacted base. We’ve seen driveway sand vanish down to the base aggregate in one runoff season because the original installer rushed it.
Tremron Service in Wrightwood: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Here’s the thing that gets missed by installer after installer in Wrightwood: winter road crews sand and salt Highway 2 and the village streets heavily from November through April. That material doesn’t stay on the road. It gets plowed onto your driveway apron, tracked into your garage, and thrown onto your pavers every time a vehicle pulls in. A Tremron paver patio installed in Victorville or Tremron in Phelan never sees that. The same product installed in Wrightwood has to be specified for de-icer exposure and plow abrasion, or you’ll be cleaning white bloom and re-sanding joints every spring.
On a sloped lot off Lone Pine Canyon Road, our crew tore out a heaved Tremron Old Towne Cobble driveway whose bedding had been set too shallow for the frost line. We re-graded with a deeper compacted base, new edge restraint, and polymeric joint sand. We reset the Tremron Kingston wall caps that had shifted from snowmelt seepage and added a drainage bed behind the wall. That driveway came through the next snow season without a single lifted paver.
That’s the difference between hardscape knowledge and mountain hardscape knowledge. Wrightwood is not a generic installation site. It’s a freeze-thaw, salt-spray, snow-load environment, and your Tremron base, drainage, and edge detailing have to be built for that.
Tremron Models & Products We Service in Wrightwood
We install and repair the full Tremron range that makes sense for mountain applications. That includes Tremron Old Towne Cobble pavers, which are our most common driveway product in Wrightwood. We also work with the Tremron Plaza Series for larger patios and walkways, and Tremron Kingston retaining wall blocks for sloped lots, along with Tremron Alpine and Stonegate wall systems where a more finished face is called for.
On parts, our stance is direct. We specify genuine Tremron pavers, caps, and edge restraints for anything visible or load-bearing. We use quality aftermarket base aggregate and polymeric joint sand where they outperform the generic alternatives. If the base is sound and only a few units are chipped or cracked, we repair. If heave or wall movement is widespread, we recommend a full rebuild. Patching a failing base is the fastest way to spend twice.
We also stock common Tremron paver profiles and wall caps at our supply partners, which means we don’t leave your Wrightwood project waiting on a special order from Florida when we can match a color and profile from the line.

FAQs – Tremron Construction in Wrightwood
Yes, if the base and edge restraints are done right. Tremron pavers themselves are dense and durable. What fails in Wrightwood is the base depth, the drainage, and the edge restraint. We spec for de-icer exposure and plow abrasion, which is not the same spec used downhill. Call (877) 752-4194 for a Wrightwood-specific assessment.
We set bases for full mountain frost depth, which usually means 10 to 14 inches of compacted aggregate depending on your lot’s exposure and soil. Four to six inches, which works fine in Victorville or Piñon Hills Tremron service areas, will heave here. The base is the most expensive part of the job and the part you can’t see. It’s also the reason cheap quotes fail in Wrightwood.
Sometimes. If the wall is leaning because caps shifted and drainage is clogged, we can reset caps, add drainage, and re-compact behind the wall. If the wall blocks themselves are spalling or the base has moved, a rebuild is usually cheaper long-term than a cosmetic patch. We’ll tell you straight up which one you’re looking at.
Not always, but in Wrightwood we usually recommend it. Sealing slows salt and mineral wicking, reduces freeze-thaw spalling, and makes spring cleanup easier. It’s not a substitute for proper drainage, but it’s a useful layer of protection. Call (877) 752-4194 to discuss whether sealing is worth it for your specific exposure.
That white powder is efflorescence, which is salt and mineral deposits wicking up through the paver joints. In Wrightwood it’s worsened by road de-icers and salt tracked onto driveways. Proper drainage, joint sand, and sealing reduce it. If it’s heavy every year, the real culprit is usually water sitting under or behind the pavers.
