CWS Construction in Ontario, CA | Milpitas Construction

We’re an independent CWS provider serving Ontario homeowners with quartz and granite slab countertops, cabinet installation, and full kitchen remodels. We are not manufacturer-affiliated or authorized by CWS. What makes our CWS work different here: we template and cut stone to the actual walls and settled cabinet lines of Ontario’s postwar tract homes rather than assuming everything is square. Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for CWS Service

CWS stone is a known quantity in the Inland Empire. Homeowners in Ontario’s 91762 and 91764 ZIP codes have been living with CWS quartz and granite in their kitchens and baths for decades, and we’ve spent that same stretch learning what holds up and what fails when a slab goes onto a slab foundation that’s moved. Our familiarity with the product line means we know which CWS granite lots matched well together and which Calacatta-look quartz series had tighter veining patterns that hide seams better.

Ken Stafford grew up near the Milpitas BART station, got his construction technology training at Evergreen Valley College, and has spent more than two decades doing builds that hold up to soil shifts and seismic quirks. He runs our CWS sales & service work the same way: measure to the real conditions, not the blueprints. That matters in Ontario, where a 1958 tract house on a shallow slab rarely matches its original drawings.

Common CWS Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario

  • Seam failure at the sink cutout. Ontario’s postwar slabs move. When original cabinets settle unevenly, the quartz slab takes the stress and cracks at the weakest point, which is nearly always the sink cutout. We level and sister the cabinet boxes before we set the new top so the stone isn’t asked to bridge a half-inch gap.
  • Etching and dull haze on polished stone. Inland Empire water runs hard, and citrus cleaners are common. Original 1960s-70s CWS tops that were never re-sealed show a cloudy, etched surface. We can often re-hone and re-polish the stone, and we always tell homeowners which sealers stand up to the mineral content in Ontario’s water.
  • Delamination of a glued overlay. We’ve pulled CWS slabs that a prior owner glued directly over failing particleboard cabinets. The laminate-to-quartz line separates, the top flexes, and the stone eventually cracks. The fix is getting the substrate right before the stone goes back down.
  • Color mismatch on a replacement section. CWS granite runs from 15 to 20 years ago are gone. We can’t match a discontinued Santa Cecilia lot exactly, so we’ll tell you that upfront and help you choose between re-templating the whole run or finding a complementary stone that reads intentional rather than patchy.
  • Cracked backsplash slabs from Santa Ana pressure shifts. A jolt of wind doesn’t crack a slab, but a house that’s been flexing for sixty years with a too-rigid bond line will. We set backsplash slabs with the right thinset and movement accommodation for Ontario’s older walls.

CWS Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Ontario’s older single-story stucco tract homes sit on shallow slabs with original galvanized plumbing, so any kitchen island or countertop install here has to account for slab thickness and moisture before a CWS slab goes down — the same care we bring to CWS service in Chino. In the neighborhoods around Euclid Avenue and Mission Boulevard, we regularly find original 1960s cabinets settled a quarter to three-quarters of an inch, with a moisture line where a slab leak or a sweating galvanized pipe has compromised the cabinet bases. Coastal contractors don’t see this the way we do. The typical coastal retrofit assumes a structurally clean box. Ontario’s infill work, replacing postwar citrus-grove tract housing with two-story builds and ADUs under SB 9, often means tying a new CWS kitchen into a foundation that predates Title 24 energy and seismic standards by fifty years. That’s why our templating process starts with level readings and a moisture check before we ever bring a slab through the door.

Field Note: A 1962 Tract House Off Euclid

On a 1962 single-story stucco tract home off Euclid Avenue near the 60, our crew pulled a failing laminate top and found the original cabinets had settled a half-inch out of level on the shallow slab. We sistered the cabinet boxes, flashed the area, and set a new CWS Calacatta-look quartz top with an overmounted edge cut to the true wall line, a clean tie-in instead of a top that cracks at the sink seam. That’s the Ontario condition in one job: the house moved, the stone had to move with it, and the fix was in the cabinet work before the slab was ever set.

CWS Models & Products We Service in Ontario

We work with CWS quartz slab countertops, including the Calacatta-look veined series that reads marble without the upkeep. On the granite side, we handle Santa Cecilia and New Venetian Gold slabs, plus CWS solid-surface and quartz vanity tops, prefab kitchen island tops, and backsplash slabs. When a full replacement makes sense, we template and fabricate from current CWS stock. When a top is cracked but the cabinets are solid, we’ll often repair or sister the substrate and re-set the stone before recommending a tear-out. We source quality aftermarket undermount sinks and faucets rather than pushing name-brand hardware, which keeps the sink decision from holding up a slab install. This same local approach carries across our broader Ontario service area.

FAQs – CWS Construction in Ontario

Do you install CWS granite or quartz if I already bought the slab myself? Yes, we will template, cut, and install a slab you own, but we’ll want to inspect it for transport damage and check the thickness against your cabinet layout before quoting installation. Call (877) 752-4194 and we’ll walk through what we look for.

Will Santa Ana wind season affect a CWS countertop or cabinet install? Not directly. The wind itself won’t move a properly installed slab, but wind-driven dust and grit can get between the slab and cabinet during templating, and a house that’s been settling for fifty years is more likely to shift during a dry, windy stretch. We schedule template and set days close together and cover the work area during the Santa Ana months, just as we do for San Antonio Heights CWS service. Call (877) 752-4194 for an exact timeline.

Do you push name-brand hardware with a CWS top? We don’t. We’ll source a quality aftermarket undermount sink and faucet that fit the slab you choose and the cabinet box you have. The sink decision shouldn’t add a week to a countertop job.

Which CWS models do you actually service? We handle the CWS quartz slab lines, including the Calacatta-look veined series, and the granite slab lines like Santa Cecilia and New Venetian Gold. We also work with CWS solid-surface vanity tops, prefab island tops, and backsplash slabs.

How much does a CWS kitchen countertop replacement cost in Ontario? Most CWS quartz and granite countertop installations in Ontario run between $2,000 and $6,500, depending on square footage and whether we need to correct settled cabinets first. Call (877) 752-4194 for a written quote.
